Business and Commercial Negotiation Support
- Do you have Managers that are expected to negotiate in a number of different arenas on behalf of the organisation but lack the skill and experience to do so successfully?
- Sometimes the negotiation table is like a battleground. Can your manager come away unscathed and bring back some ‘goods from the table’?
Regardless of whether you have managers who negotiate with outside representatives or not, all Managers should be expected to negotiate daily with their team members and peers.
Workplace Conflict Resolution can provide two functions relating to negotiation:
Pre Negotiation Training:
This 2 hour small group training session prepares Managers for the negotiation table by explaining and discussing:
- Competitive negotiation techniques;
- Persuasive, intimidating and adversarial tactics;
- Distributive bargaining and a 'win-win' approach; and
- A structured and detailed approach to preparing for the negotiation.

Pre Negotiation Preparation and/or Attending the Negotiation as an Advisor or Advocate:
A Workplace Conflict Resolution consultant will meet with your business Manager/Representative prior to the negotiation meeting to ensure a comprehensive preparation is undertaken. Following which, our consultant can attend the negotiation meeting with the business representative to support the implementation of the agreed approach, to intercept any adversarial tactics employed by the other party/s as well as providing advice during the private ‘time out’ sessions. The consultant will also ensure that any agreement is captured correctly and appropriately in writing and to the satisfaction of your business representative. By prior approval, our Workplace Conflict Resolution consultant may also act as your advocate and help direct the negotiation discussions for improved outcomes.
Cross Cultural Training, Advisory and Negotiation Support Services:
With global market opportunities rapidly expanding, being able to confidently and successfully negotiate across cultures is becoming an essential skill. Workplace Conflict Resolution's Cross Cultural Team provides a range of tiered services from generalist cross cultural negotiation training to specific and individual pre-negotiation preparation advice and/or attending the negotiation meeting with you as an advisor or advocate.
